Ch3v1-4: In due course John the Baptist appeared.

Ch3v5-6: The people made their way to him, and he baptised them in the river Jordan.

Ch3v7-8: 'Brood of vipers, who warned you to fly...'

Ch3v8-10: 'God can raise children for Abraham from these stones.'

Ch3v11-12: 'He will baptise you with the Holy Spirit and with fire.'

Ch3v13-15: Then Jesus appeared to be baptised by John.

Ch3v16-17: ‘This is my Son, the Beloved; my favour rests on him’.

Ch4v1: Then Jesus was led by the Spirit out into the wilderness.

Ch4v2-4: The tempter came and said to him, 'If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to turn into loaves’..

Ch4v5-6: 'If you are the Son of God’ he said ‘throw yourself down.'

Ch4v8-10: The devil showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their splendour.

Ch4v11: Angels appeared and looked after him.

Ch4v12-17: Jesus settled in Capernaum and began his preaching.

Ch4v18-22: And he said to them, ‘Follow me and I will make you fishers of men’.

Ch4v23-25: He went round the whole of Galilee teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the Good News of the Kingdom and curing all kinds of diseases
